Rodenticides
Extruded Baits
Beginning with its first rodenticide, a one-pound Rodent Cake, Bell Laboratories over the years has developed a family of rodenticides containing various active ingredients - warfarin, bromadiolone, brodifacoum, zinc phosphide, cholecalciferol, Pival and diphacinone. Bell's rodenticides are marketed under the trade names Contrac, Final, Ditrac, Quintox, and ZP. Every effort is made in the manufacturing process to produce superior quality baits. Bell Laboratories' baits contain only human food-grade inert ingredients and enhancers. Grain is purchased in bags rather than bulk and is inspected before use to ensure that it meets quality specifications and is free of contaminants. Throughout the manufacturing process, products undergo periodic quality checks. A final inspection of the finished product guarantees that each batch conforms to Bell's quality standards. |

Extruded BaitsRapidly becoming the bait of choice in the pest control industry, extruded baits offer the palatability of meal baits with the weatherability of paraffinized baits, making them ideal for use indoors and out. Bell's patented extruded baits appeal to rodents because they combine a flavorful formulation with bait hardness and multiple gnawing edges. Made with human food-grade ingredients and a low amount of paraffin, Bell's extruded baits are not "cooked" like conventional poured paraffin baits. This process retains flavor and freshness, enhancing the bait's palatability to rodents. To attain a hardness suitable for rodent gnawing, the bait is compressed through a unique die which gives it multiple gnawing edges. It is then cut into one-ounce or one-pound bait blox. Bell's extruded baits pass tough weatherability tests in which they are placed in ovens at temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit at 100 percent humidity for 15 days. The bait is then used in efficacy tests with rats and mice. Bell's extruded baits achieve acceptance rates of 75 percent with 100 percent mortality.

Meal/Seed/Pelleted BaitsFor customers who prefer packaged bait, Bell Laboratories offers three bait forms - meal, seed and pelleted - in easy-to-use, polyglassine place pacs. Designed to be opened by rodents, place pacs feature a polyethylene liner which allows the odor of the bait to escape, thus enticing the rodent. Yet place pacs keep bait fresh and free from dirt and contaminants while keeping moisture out. Slender place pacs fit in bait stations, down burrows or in hard-to-reach places. Users never touch the bait. To ensure quality control, Bell's place pac formulations undergo penetration studies with rats and mice to ensure that rodents will readily chew into the pacs and consume the bait. On-line operators also check place pacs for proper fill and seal before hand placing them in cartons. In addition, each bait type also must meet its own set of quality standards: Bell's highly palatable meal bait, for example, is made from only human food-grade ingredients, seeds and grains which give rodents a variety of textures and flavors. Similarly, Bell's seed baits achieve high acceptance among mice because mice like to hull the seed, making seed bait a good competitor against other food sources Highly weatherable pelleted baits are popular to use in moist conditions. To prevent premature rancidity, Bell's line operators measure the moisture content of pellets several times during production to ensure it is kept to a minimum. |

Liquid Bait Bell's liquid bait, Liqua-Tox II, is ideal to use when competition from food sources is great or when liquid is scarce. Rats need water daily, and mice will drink it when it is available.
Liquid bait mixes easily with water and can be dispensed in Bell's tamper-resistant bait stations, a chicken fount or other receptacle away from pets and other non-target animals.
